sortd Ireland is a parent-curated directory of children's camps and activities across Ireland. sortd is operated by Rachel, a working mum based in Malahide, Co. Dublin, Ireland.
When we say "sortd", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy, we mean sortd Ireland.

What information we collect
Newsletter subscribers
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your first name
- Your county in Ireland
- Your child or children's ages
We collect this information so we can send you a relevant, personalised monthly round-up of kids' activities in your area, matched to your children's ages.
Camp recommendations
When you recommend a camp via our website, we collect the details you provide about the camp (name, location, category, contact details) and optionally your first name. We use this to research and add the camp to our directory.
Website usage
Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information when you visit sortd-ireland.ie, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This helps us understand how the site is being used and improve it over time. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect only for the purposes it was given:
- To send you our monthly newsletter with children's activities relevant to your county and your children's ages
- To add recommended camps to the sortd directory
- To improve the website and understand how parents use it
We will never sell your personal data to third parties. We will never use your data for advertising purposes. We will never share your data with anyone outside of what is needed to operate sortd.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Consent — when you sign up for our newsletter, you give us explicit consent to contact you. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legitimate interests — for basic website analytics to understand how sortd is being used and to improve the experience for parents.
How we store your data
Newsletter signups are captured via Netlify Forms and stored securely on Netlify's servers. Netlify is GDPR-compliant and their data processing terms are available at netlify.com/gdpr-ccpa.
We do not currently use a third-party email marketing platform. When we do, we will update this policy to name that provider and link to their privacy terms.
We retain your data for as long as you are subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe, we will delete your personal data from our records within 30 days.
Your rights under GDPR
As someone based in Ireland or the EU, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data at any time
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to stop using your data
- Right to data portability — you can ask for a copy of your data in a portable format

- Right to withdraw consent — you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send

Cookies
sortd-ireland.ie does not currently use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use a session cookie to remember that you have closed our newsletter popup during your visit, so it does not reappear. This cookie is not used to identify you and expires when you close your browser.
Third-party links
Our website links to external camp and activity provider websites. Once you leave sortd-ireland.ie, this privacy policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
Children's privacy
sortd is a service for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. The only data we collect about children is their age, provided by a parent or guardian when signing up for our newsletter, used solely to personalise activity recommendations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as sortd grows and changes. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.
