Who we are
sortd Ireland is a parent-curated directory of children's camps and activities across Ireland. sortd is operated by Rachel, a working mum based in Malahide, Co. Dublin, Ireland.
When we say "sortd", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy, we mean sortd Ireland.

What information we collect
Newsletter subscribers
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your first name or county, only if you choose to give them to us
- A record of your consent: the date and time you signed up, the exact wording of the tick box you agreed to, and the page you signed up on
We collect this so we can send you our weekly "what's on near you" email, every Thursday, and so we can show that you asked for it.
Parent accounts and provider dashboard
If you log in to sortd as a parent, we collect your email address so we can send you a one-time login link, and we remember the camps and classes you save. If you list or claim a camp or class as a provider, we collect the details you give us about it (such as the name, location, contact email and booking details) so we can publish and manage your listing, and we email you about it.
Camp recommendations
When you recommend a camp via our website, we collect the details you provide about the camp (name, location, category, contact details) and optionally your first name. We use this to research and add the camp to our directory.
Website usage
Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information when you visit sortd-ireland.ie, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This helps us understand how the site is being used and improve it over time. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect only for the purposes it was given:
- To send you our weekly newsletter (every Thursday) with new camps, open spots and updates
- To send you the emails you ask for, such as login links and confirmations that a listing has been received or is live
- To add recommended camps to the sortd directory
- To improve the website and understand how parents use it
We will never sell your personal data to third parties. We will never use your data for advertising purposes. We will never share your data with anyone outside of what is needed to operate sortd.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Consent — when you sign up for our newsletter, you give us explicit consent to contact you. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legitimate interests — for basic website analytics to understand how sortd is being used and to improve the experience for parents.
How we store your data
We use a small number of trusted services to run sortd. They process your data on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy:
- Brevo (a company based in France, in the EU) stores our newsletter list and sends our emails, including the weekly newsletter, login links and listing confirmations. Their privacy policy is at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
- Netlify hosts this website and runs the code behind our sign-up and login forms. Their data processing terms are at netlify.com/gdpr-ccpa.
- Airtable stores the camp and class listings, provider details submitted through our forms, and parent account records. Their privacy policy is at airtable.com/company/privacy.
- Google Analytics measures how the website is used (see "Cookies" below).
We keep your newsletter details for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a "do not email" list so that we never email you again by mistake. If you would like that deleted too, email us and we will erase it within 30 days.
Your rights under GDPR
As someone based in Ireland or the EU, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data at any time
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to stop using your data
- Right to data portability — you can ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
- Right to object — you can object to us processing your data
- Right to withdraw consent — you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send

Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and whether newsletter sign-ups are working. It sets cookies in your browser and receives your IP address and basic details about your device. We do not send it your email address or name.
We also use a login cookie that keeps you signed in if you have a parent account, and small pieces of browser storage that remember the camps and classes you have saved and that you have closed our "Follow on Instagram" pop-up. These are only used to make the site work for you.
Third-party links
Our website links to external camp and activity provider websites. Once you leave sortd-ireland.ie, this privacy policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
Children's privacy
sortd is a service for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children, and we do not ask for children's names or ages.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as sortd grows and changes. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.
